And it boasts more historic homes per square mile than anywhere in the UK, some beautiful gardens, truly striking abbeys - all of which are to be found on pleasant roads that make getting there half the attraction. Ours is a great outdoors - a landscape made for walking, horse-riding and cycling. Quiet valley roads make for classic bike rides, while for the dedicated mountain-biker it’s welcome to off-road heaven - with exciting forest trails a few miles from the park and championship downhill racing events regularly enjoyed in nearby Innerleithen. Golf? Enjoy it on a remarkable range of courses 
old and new, full length and shorter, that all come magically well within your reach. And, never forget, when you are at Crossburn, you are never more than 45 minutes drive from all the capital attractions of Edinburgh.
